Tutorial: How to Make an Easter Egg Coaster Using Fabric Scraps
This Easter egg coaster tutorial is an easy way to use up some small leftover scraps of fabric. Simply choose some colorful scraps, sew them together and use these coasters as a fun Easter decoration idea. These little eggs are actually quite easy to make, even for beginner sewists.

Supplies Needed:
(Note: I include links to sewing supplies and notions that I used. However, I always hope that if you have similar leftover supplies from other projects, you will use those before buying new)
(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)
Step 1

Arrange Your Fabric Scraps for your Easter egg designs
You can arrange your scraps however you want and sew them together. I like to use white at the top and the bottom to make it look more like an egg, but this is the stage where you can design your Easter egg however you like it. I recommend cutting straight lines on your scraps because it will make them easier to sew together.
Step 2

cut out your easter egg pieces
Place your pattern pieces on top of your fabric scrap collage and cut out two of the egg pieces.

Step 3

baste the the fabric, interfacing, and batting together
Layer the back fabric piece, interfacing, batting, and front fabric egg piece. Then baste around the edges of all of them.

Step 4

Add double fold bias tape to the outside of the egg
Sew double fold bias tape around the edge of the Easter egg coaster to cover the raw edges.

Finished!
