Tutorial: Easy Denim Belt
This quick tutorial will walk you through how to make a simple tie-on belt using an old pair of jeans. You can download the pattern for this below and lengthen or shorten it depending on the size of your waist. The final belt should be the measurement around your waist + 15-20 inches to tie the belt with.

Supplies Needed:
(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)

Step 1

Cut your belt pattern out of your pair of jeans

Step 2

Sew the belt pieces together
with right sides together, sew the two belt pieces on the center seam.

Step 3

Fold the belt in half lengthwise and sew
With right sides together, fold the belt in half and sew along the length. Pivot at the points. Also, leave a gap in the center of the belt.

Step 4

Clip the corners and turn the belt to the right side
Clip the corners so they can come to a point, then turn the belt through the gap in the center.

Step 5

press the belt and sew the gap
You can also topstitch along the edge for a neater-looking finish.

Finished!
