Tutorial: How to Make a Cute Scrunchie Headband
If you like the look of scrunchies, why not try making a scrunchie-style headband too? This is just as simple to make as a basic scrunchie, but can be used as an adorable decorative headband. All you need to complete this is about 1/4 yard of leftover fabric and some elastic to fit around your head. Download the scrunchie pattern below and follow along with the tutorial.

Supplies Needed:

(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)

Step 1

fold the headband in half lengthwise and sew
With right sides together, sew the headband in half lengthwise. Leave a small gap at both ends (see below)

Step 2

fold the headband in half inside of itself and sew the ends together
Pull the headband inside of itself so you have right-sides together. Sew the ends together, seams should be matching. You should still have that little gap that you left open earlier.
Step 3

Turn headband to the right side
Turn the headband to the right side through the little gap you left
Step 4

insert elastic into the headband
Insert the elastic through the headband and sew it into a loop. Then hand sew the hole in the scrunchie headband.

Finished!
