Tutorial: Fun “Feather” Scarf With Fleece Scraps
This tutorial will walk you through how to make a “feather” scarf with fleece fabric. I designed this to use up all the odd-shaped leftover pieces of fleece fabric I have leftover from all of my other projects. The end result is a colorful feather-like to show your own personal sense of style this season.
Supplies Needed:
(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)

Step 1

line up and sew the single and double pieces
line up one of the double pieces 1 inch above the the single piece. Then sew them together.

Step 2

sew the first triple piece centered over the double piece
Line up the first triple piece so that it is centered above the double piece. It should be 1 inch above the previous piece. Then sew it in place.

Step 3

line up the next triple piece and sew
Place the next piece 1 inch above the previous piece. Make this one slightly off center so that the diagonal on matches up with one side of the diagonal on the piece below it. Then sew it in place.

Step 4

Place the next piece on the other diagonal
Similar to the last step, place the next piece 1 inch above the previous one. Then make sure it lines up with the diagonal on the opposite side of the scarf.

Step 5

continue adding pieces alternating each side
Add pieces alternating between the left and right diagonals until you’ve used half of the pieces.
Step 6

repeat steps 1-5 for the second side of the scarf
Step 7

sew the two sides together
with right sides together, sew the two halves of the scarf together along the center seam

Finished!
