Tutorial: How to make a Bunny Pillow With Ears
Anyone who knows me knows that I love rabbits! Cute bunny projects are my favorites, and that includes making some fun bunny pillows. Download my free pattern below and follow along with the step-by-step instructions so you can create a bunny pillow of your own. It’s great for spring and Easter decorations (or all year long if you like rabbits as much as I do).
Note: my pillow is a bit lumpy because I like to use leftover fabric scraps to stuff my pillow instead of using more traditional pillow stuffing materials. If you don’t like how that looks, you can always use some kind of poly-fill or fiber-fill instead.

Supplies Needed:
(Note: I include links to sewing supplies and notions that I used. However, I always hope that if you have similar leftover supplies from other projects, you will use those before buying new)
(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)

Step 1

Apply interfacing to the bunny ears
Step 2

sew the bunny ears to the lining
with right sides together, sew the two sets of bunny ears around the perimeter.

Step 3

turn the ears to the right side
Clip the curve around the tip of the ears and turn them to the right side. Press them flat for a neater finish.

Step 4

fold the bunny ears and baste the ends
Fold the two sides of the bunny ears in to create a 3-dimensional shape, then baste the base of the ears. Fold the longer side over top of the shorter side. After basting, cut off the fabric that extends past the base on the back.

Step 5

Baste the ears to the top of one of the pillow
Space the ears according to the markings on the pattern.
Step 6

sew the front and back of the pillow together
With right sides of fabric together and the bunny ears sandwiched in-between, sew the front and back of the pillow. Leave a gap in the bottom of the pillow.

Step 7

Turn the pillow right side out
Step 8

Stuff the pillow and sew up the gap
You can use whatever you want to stuff your pillow. I like to use leftover fabric scraps that are too small to use for anything else as my pillow stuffing, but this does make the final pillow a little more lumpy than it otherwise would be. So, if you don’t like that, you can always use poly-fill or another type of pillow stuffing material. After stuffing, hand sew the gap closed

Step 9

sew a white pom pom for the tail
Finished!
