Tutorial: How to Make a Cute Flower Headband
Learn how to make a simple elastic headband with fabric flowers to give it a cute spring and summer aesthetic. All you need for this are some fabric remnants (less than 1/4) leftover from other projects and some small lightweight scraps for the flowers. You can download the pattern below for free and follow along with the step-by-step instructions.

Supplies Needed:
all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance
Step 1
Apply interfacing to the two headband pieces
You can use fusible or sew-in, whichever you prefer.
Step 2
sew headband pieces together
With right sides together, sew the headband along the long edges. Before sewing, fold over the seam allowance at both ends of the headband (see below)
Step 3
Turn to right side and press
Step 4
fold casing in half and sew along the length
With right sides together sew the elastic casing in half. Then turn the casing to the right side (trim the seam allowance and use a loop turner to help you turn it to the right side)
Step 5
insert elastic into the casing
Use safety pins to insert your elastic into the casing.
Step 6
sew the elastic to both ends of the casing
Step 7
Insert the elastic casing into both ends of the headband
Insert the elastic and topstitch it inside the headband.
Step 8
fold your circles in half and arrange them in a circle
Arrange the 5 semi circles with the folded edge on the inside and open edges on the outside. Sew around the outer, open edge with a long basting stitch (I recommend hand stitching)
Step 9
Gather the base of the flower
Pull the thread to gather the base of the flower petals. Repeat to make as many flowers as you want (you can also make flowers in different sizes)
Step 10
arrange your flowers on the headband and hand sew them in place
Finished!
