Tutorial: Easy Peppermint Candy Festive Pillow
Make your own DIY festive decorations this year with this easy Peppermint Pillow. I included the pattern I used below if you want to download it, but really all you need to get started is 5 strips of red fabric and 5 strips of white fabric along with some rope or string for tying off the ends.
Supplies Needed:
(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)

Step 1

sew the strips together alternating colors
Sew the red and white strips of fabric together with right sides together.

Step 2

fold over 3 inches on both side of the pillow and sew them in place
With wrong sides together, fold over 3 inches (one and a half stripes) and sew along the top, bottom and inner edge. You can ditch stitch for a more “invisible” finish.

Step 3

fold in half and sew
With right side together, fold the pillow in half and sew along the long side.

Step 4

turn the pillow to the right side

Step 5

tie one side of the pillow
using string or rope, tie of one side of the pillow.

Step 6

stuff the pillow
You can use whatever you want to stuff your pillow. I like to use leftover fabric scraps that are too small to use for anything else as my pillow stuffing, but this does make the final pillow a little more lumpy than it otherwise would be. So, if you don’t like that, you can always use poly-fill or another type of pillow stuffing material.

Step 7

tie off the other side of the pillow
Once you’ve finished stuffing, just use another piece of rope to tie of the other side of the peppermint candy pillow
Finished!
