Tutorial: How to Make a Simple Fleece Hat
I’ll show you how to make a super simple fleece hat using leftover scraps of fleece fabric. This is a cozy winter hat that’s great for when your outdoors on a winter day. The pattern that you can download below (for free) is sized for an adult head, but you can shrink the size to work for kids if that’s what you need.
Supplies Needed:
(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)
Step 1
sew the hat pieces in sets of two
With right side together, sew two sets of hat pieces on one side.
Step 2
sew the two sets together
with right sides together, line up the two sewn hat pieces and sew along the top and sides, leaving the bottom open.
Step 3
fold the band in half and sew
with right sides together, fold the band in half and sew to create a loop.
Step 4
fold the band in half
With wrong sides together, fold the band in half lengthwise
Step 5
sew the band to the hat
Lining up raw edges, sew the band around the hat. Then trim the seam and press the band down.
