Tutorial: How to Make Cute Flower Accessories With Buttons
This quick tutorial will teach you how to make an easy petaled flower using scraps of fabric and a cute little button. These quick flowers are great for decorations that give your home or outfit a touch of spring, or you can use them to create simple hair clips, headbands, or even make a fabric flower bouquet. You just need to cut your fabric scraps into little squares that you fold into a triangle to create the petals, the add a button to the center. Follow along with the flower tutorial to get started.

Supplies Needed:
Step 1

fold the square into a triangle and add a long basting stitch through the raw edges
Step 2

gather the base of the petal by pulling the thread
Do not cut the thread or tie it off.
Step 3

in the same manner, add a second petal
Fold the next square into a triangle and use the same thread to string it on next to the first petal.

Step 3

repeat for the rest of the petals
You can use 5 or 6 squares for this. Only use more that that if you have a large enough button to cover the hole in the middle.
When finished, tie the two ends of the flower petals together.

Step 4

sew a button onto the center of the flower
From here, you can sew or glue the flower to a hair clip, headband, faux flower bouquet, or as a decoration to a hat bag or other accessory.
Finished!
